Hong Kong

Totally forgot how amazing place HK is even if been there twice before. I could easily see myself living there for a while. People are nice, kind, prices are low, weather is hot and food tasty. Stayed in Metropark hotel which is proper 4 star place and the location was ideal. When arrived there was a friend from OZ, Alex, waiting for me with a bottle of tequila. Can you ask anything more after a long and lonely flight? Kindly he kept me company for few days and we had so much fun running around the city. Ate lots of good fresh food; soups, veg, fish, dim sum etc and even one dish called the morning glory :) Lush. Went to the Peak, night market, shopping, saw the symphony of lights, giant Buddha, Kung fu show, walked around little fishing village and also took a boat ride to see the pink dolphins. For my disappointment it started to rain heavy so no dolphins anywhere. Oh well maybe next time.

Just few days before leaving Brighton met a girl called Clare bear who was also going to HK on the same day as me. We exchanged numbers and met in Hong Kong few times. She is such a lovely girl. We walked around the most amazing places in Lantau/Tai O and took a ferry ride back to the main island. Then had few (who knows me or Clare probs knows it was more than that..) drinks all over HK island. Met some very funny and strange people from America, Ireland and HK. Massive hangover the next day but totally worth it. Will defo find Clare when back in Brighton or maybe even sooner.

There is so much to do and see in HK I could always go there and experience something new. It is very hard to explain why it is so great you just need to go there and experience it all. Will add some pics next week. I'm now in Brisbane but not really sure about this place but atleast there blue sky and warm weather. Australia is so much more expensive than last time in 2008. Think will head off to Melbourne within few days to stay with Al and meet friends. Will write again when something fun happens.

Ps. Got super cheap converse from HK, wish could have bought more.

Rocky start but getting there...

..Atleast I truly hope my luck is about to change soon. First of all on the 19th of April when I was supposed to head off to Hong Kong from Gatwick airport I decided to check my flight online..realised it wasn't Gatwick I needed to go to but all the way to the Heathrow airport! Shock! Shakes! Panic! Thank god everything was packed so I could just leave straight away. On my way to the train station lovely friend of mine took me for lunch and carried all my bags so that I got time to calm down and the butterflies in my belly could be settled. Positive side of this mix up was the goodbyes had to be short and then less painful.

Took me 2hrs to get to Heathrow, then whilst doing check in realised my last name was incorrect so needed to q for assistance.. No time for chilling but just made it to the plane. Thankfully things went quite smoothly in Hong Kong. Until it was time to go to Australia. At the airport check in turned out the travel agency didn't sort out my visa so I had to buy a new one even if already paid for one before. Did email the agency and they advised the money will be paid back to my account. Also got sniffed by the dogs and the hand luggage was causing some problems at the security. Maybe I look a bit of a weirdo or something. Anyway finally in OZ, hopefully no more drama in the future. Fingers and toes crossed.

Share the love and the alcohol.

Last week in Brighton

As some of you may know I am heading travelling on Thursday.. without a clue what to do or when to come back. Hong Kong for 5 nights, Oz for 3months and then NZ for a year or so.. I don't actually know why I am going or what I'm looking for but I do trust it will be an epic trip! Even if many people and places will be missed meanwhile.

Whilst in Finland I truly missed Brighton. I love the atmosphere here, the random parties, the sea and all the lovely people who have been looking after me and letting me share their home as if it's mine too. Don't get me wrong it was good to visit Finland, meet the family and friends but after this journey I reckon I'll only go back during the summers. Yes I am a finnish who doesnt like cold, snow or winter sports haha.

So far my last week in Brighton has been amazing and totally BONKERS! :) Few more days to go.. I'm actually getting very sad even thinking about leaving but doing my best to block those thoughts and enjoy the company of all the hot sexy people and my new best friend.. Golden Tequila! Cheers to Brighton, I will be back! xxxxx
