Heading towards the sun

Just to let everyone know I am leaving Australia tomorrow morning and flying off to Hanoi where Al's friend will show us around for few daysOn Monday the 8th we will fly to Bangkok and then Phuket, where Alex and I will be living for the next six to eight months working and enjoying the sun and new environment.

The plan is to visit ten countries in one year. Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, England, Finland Estonia and Norway. I will keep you updated how we go.

If you get bored of European winter (or Australian summer) feel free to come and visit us as we should have a spare room for the visitors.

So long sausages!

Royal Melbourne Show

As we are leaving soon (tomorrow actually), we wanted to spend some time with Al's niece Benni. Last Sunday the weather was nice so we packed picnic lunch and took the train to the city where they had the Royal Melbourne Show. There were animals, rides, candy floss, popcorn, cars, food and much much more. Benni loved it, "can I have that" "can we go on that ride" "I want an ice cream" and so on.. We had really nice time and I'm glad she enjoyed the day and her Pokemon show bag.

Rock around the clock

We made a trip to the local Rockabilly bar one night as they had few bands playing. Some of the music was a bit too country for my liking but at least the last two bands were less depressing and actually more rockabilly like. Loved the scene as everyone really dressed up according the venue and all the bands had a massive double bass :) Alex was the king of the dance floor, I was very surprised to see his moves. Due to the result of this and the memories of Dirty Dancing we will be doing dancing lessons as soon as possible.

Spring chicken!

Finally I can update my next moves. We have booked our flights and sorted our jobs in Thailand. Flying off to Vietnam on the 1st of October for a week, after that visiting Bangkok and then the flat hunting in Phuket begins. The plan is to stay there for six months so anyone who feels the urge to dance with the lady boys and eat some rice you are more than welcome to visit us. Just give enough notice for us to clean the pool and buy some local beers :)

The weather here in Melbourne has been getting warmer so in a way it is a bit of a shame to leave now when the summer begins.. but there is always next year.

Apocalyptica

Went to see Apocalyptica last weekend, it was amazing! Alex even bought me a huge Finnish flag to take with. Rocked so hard my neck was sore for days. Also managed to get right at the front with Linda and after the gig the drummer came and gave me his drumstick! Finnish flag appreciated I reckon :)

Al got his pic done, very pretty.
