Working woman

After two long flights and a 2hr bus trip I managed to arrive Brighton on Tuesday night. Phil, Jen and Stu were waiting for me at the stop with a massive welcome home- sign and a thick winter coat. And off we went for some pints. Rest of the week I spent recovering from my jet lag and meeting all the lovelies around the town.

Thanks to Peggy I already had a interview lined up for a travel company. And as it happens I got the job! I will be organising educational and ski tours for schools and universities. They also expect me to travel the destinations ocassionally! Amazing! I am such a happy bunny at the moment. Now I can start looking for a flat and soon as I've got things sorted here I am more than happy to host visitors :)

I better get ready for my celebration dinner. Happy times. The new year will be the best one so far I can feel it in my bones. I feel like finally I am getting there where I want to be.. I wish to have travel related job, a nice flat, many friends and great social life. And most of all I've got my Brighton <3

Bangkok

I must admit I wasn't a massive fan of Bangkok.. For some reason I was expecting something different, something more. Loved the huge weekend market, plenty of vintage and literally anything you can think of. Also did the usual sightseeing.. walked so much my feet still aches. And as it was hot I was wearing shorts and as there is Buddhas everywhere it was inappropriate to wear what I had on. Such a pain in the ass, they did give me a green jacket and longer skirts to wear in most places. The hotel I stayed was filthy and surrounded by rats. The biggest bastards I've ever seen.

Don't really know what else to say.. maybe I was just ready to come home and it effected on my overall opinion.

The islands

After climbing high up on the hills to one of the most expensive bars, I enjoyed the last of Phuket during the sunset. It was time to go to the islands of Koh Phi Phi and Koh Samui. Just less than two weeks and I'd be back home..

During the last weeks the weather wasn't too good, heavy rain mostly. That obviously had huge impact on my time on the islands. Not able to scooter around meant not be able to see as much as I've hoped for. Phi Phi was quite a cute little island. Wished I could have been there before the high season tho.

The journey to Koh samui took most of the day and we had to changes buses few times and take the ferry as well. I got so badly travel sick, worst day ever. Luckily the resort I stayed in was great and finally I would get to go to the swimming pool! I didn't care if it was raining I was going to do it no matter what. Even had beers by the pool in the rain.

They had full moon party the island next to Samui but due to horrid weather and my earlier sickness decided not to go. Instead enjoyed the Lantern festival. Huge market full of food, drinks and clothing. The receptionist even gave me a hand made Loi Krathong, made from banana leaves and decorated with flowers and a candle. Then I had to launch it on the pond and make a whish.

After dinner one night I got a tiny bit drunk.. Had some of Thailands famous buckets, some tequila, smirnoff ice and some other drinks.. quite a cocktail I must admit. Towards the end of the night I've made friends with the bar staff and was dancing on the poles with them.. embarrasing I know.. Oh and I was cuddling a monkey! I do love bananas..

Next destination Bangkok..
